travel notes: Stowe, Vermont

Sep 20, 2008 14:25

* All travel occurred on time and without incident. That means my stressing about missed connections was effective, right?

* The walkway at Chicago O'Hare between the B and C concourses is very trippy. I didn't bother taking a picture, because I knew I'd be able to find much better ones on Flickr taken by other people.

* I was unduly excited about finding a Friendly's to stop at on our drive from the airport. Ah, nostalgic regional chains.

* Vermont is as full of green mountains as advertised. We're here a bit too early to catch the fall foliage.

* Stowe is as quaint as advertised. Or it looks just like any other small town in New England. Depends on your perspective.

* The barista at the cafe where we came to seek internet access just asked if there was an Apple event in town because he's seen 15 Macs today (4 of them being ours), and that's highly unusual. In Silicon Valley, it's odd to walk into a cafe and not see 15 Macs at any given moment.
