gummy report

Feb 10, 2007 14:48

My gum surgery was astoundingly easy. It happened over 24 hours ago, and I haven't been in any pain. I got a prescription for Vicodin, but I haven't taken any, because ibuprofen has been sufficient to prevent soreness. ( details -- nothing gross )

Glad the surgery went well! I've never had nitrous, it sounds pretty amusing, as far as anesthetic goes.

(This is Alison, by the way, I'm assuming you figured that out when I friended you, heh. No obligation to read as I mostly just talk and post about nerdy things; I didn't put you on the Doctor Who filter though if you're interested, that's where most of my fic and stuff goes. Oh, the nerdiness coming out into the open, I'm so embarrassed).

Yup, I figured out it was you. Nerdy things? I'm really horrified and shocked! Obviously I am not nerdy in the slightest and want nothing to do with nerdy people. Uh huh, yeah, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I will pass on the Dr. Who only because I've never watched the show. But if there's a Harry Potter filter, put me on that!

I'm glad it went okay! That was the first time you had happy gas? That was the highlight of going to the dentist when I was a kid. Loved it! ;) I couldn't have had it more than a couple times though, now that I think about it. I guess it made an impression...

F also reported having nitrous as a kid, he thought just while having regular cleanings done. I had never heard of such a thing, so with your data, I'm thinking, "Crazy California gas-dispensing dentists!" Except then my dad, the Massachusetts pediatric dentist, said something about using nitrous on his patients, so I guess it's common, perhaps when kids are especially nervous or difficult. I was actually an embarrassingly uncooperative patient, for my own father, so I don't know why he never drugged me!
