Having had the exact same procedure for the exact same reason, allow me to share with you some sage advice...
1. Get Bio Oil. It will help the small scars you might have to not be scars at all
2. Book a massage therapist
3. Have someone come over to look after you so that you can lie down on a mattress in your loungeroom and watch movies, and have it so that the only reason you will need to move is to go to the loo. Allow them to run around after your every whim so that you don't have to move/do anything
I have a friend that is a massage therapist that lives/works in Brisbane, and her partner is an acupuncturist. She is awesome. Her name is Carley BormanThe reason for the massage therapist is that while they are doing their thing around your overies, they need to push your other organs out of the way. This can (often, but not always) put a strain on your shoulders as everything is pushed up into them. When I had my operation, the pain I experienced that night was unlike any other pain I have ever experienced. Thankfully, I had a

I've made plans so that afterwards i'm going to be looked after *nods* i plan on laying in bed with as many pain killers as they allow me to have.
When would be a good time to see the massage therapist? Would the next day be too soon (with the wounds still being too sensitive or something?) When did you go for ur massage? Were you up and about and able to socialise 3 days later or did it take longer than that?
Your so kind beautiful *hugs* i've been meaning to message u and put my hand up for hanging out but stupid amounts of health fail have been piled on me for some time now. Hopefully by the time you're back in Brisbane i'll be healed up and able to snurch ur company for a drink or two!
I'm glad I was in agonising pain and put right in with the appendicitis. I think I would have been terrified otherwise. It IS a basic procedure and they DO do it everyday so you don't need to worry but it's still ok if you do.
The neck and shoulder pain your friend mentioned is actually because they fill your abdomen with carbon dioxide to inflate it and that works its way out of the highest part of your body. If you can stay prone pretty much the whole time it'll work its way out through your abdominal wall. At least that's what they told me and it worked.
i think that's the problem. feeling like being scared about something is so foolish, and i hate feeling foolish and fearful >_< thanks for thinking the fear thing is ok *hugs*
i plan on not moving for the day or so afterwards so my body can just do the healing thing, hopefully this will help with the body aches
