When he went on to something Nakai was hosting (too lazy to check up program) to promote Gokusen: The Movie, it was remarked that Kame has gained weight and he was asked what his lightest weight was. He replied - probably for two reasons, one being he's promoting Gokusen - that during Gokusen II he was 48kg.
48 kg!!!!!! And that wasn't his skinniest time. I'd shudder to know how much he weighed during Nobuta, when he looked practically like an exhausted waif.
He now weighs 60kg, which is what someone of his size should weigh, even if he looks a bit chubby in front of the camera =___=
And there are fans saying "gee...you've gained more than 10 kg, how can you even talk about it in public?"
I'd rather he stayed this way and be healthy. Kame is notorious for not eating well. Was it during Dream Boy in 2006? That Jin said in an exasperated interview that Kame survived on just a meal of salad a day sometimes? Was it in late 2006 that Kame said sometimes he'd get so tired he wouldn't be able to eat? That he was sleeping 3 or 4 hours a day and he had a total of about 5 days off in 2005? And less in 2006?
"How can you live like that?" he was asked, in an interview during a time when Jin was still in LA. He answered - because he had to push himself harder and harder, because he needed to be famous. It was as though with Jin's departure he carried all the weight that used to be split between the two of them, and singlehandedly he was going to pull KAT-TUN to the top.
I'm not being biased or arrogant here, in 2006 it was pretty much only Kame who had project after project after project.
And you hear stories about him during Jin's absence - that he would sit alone in the VIP room and sing Ayaka's "Mikazuki" to himself (if you read the lyrics.....it is very depressing)...and this is probably where all the member ai started, because Koki and Maru and Ueda and probably even Taguchi couldn't leave him like this.
He only really started to gain weight since Jin's return, and whatever the reason, I'd rather it stayed this way. Because he shouldn't have to be that skinny.
