I obviously just posted, but I was excited and felt the need to post:
I FINALLY CAUGHT MY FIRST SHINY POKEMON

I gave up on Sudowoodo so I just caught a normal one and continued into Ecruteak. I went in Burned Tower, and was walking around looking for a Magmar and avoiding battles. A Koffing comes up. It's all blue purple and a shiny ring came

Nice, congrats! I've played the pokemon games for 12 damn years and I've only ever seen ONE shiny ever (a Rhyhorn in diamond). I was just as confused as you, like "wat is this red shiny--OH" and then I caught it. 8)

Idgi, how people can find a bunch of them or make teams out of them and stuff...

Pretty much same here. I saw a shiny Zubat once. I had no idea what it was though and didn't want to fight it so I ran. If only I had known xD

Seriously. There's a ton of different methods and stuff to getting them, but I've had no luck whatsoever. B| Those lucky bastards. lmfao

Yay!! I was like nine when I caught my first (and only) shiny, and I had no idea it was a shiny till I looked back and found it in a box in my sapphire version two years ago, I'm glad the young me thought it was important to catch. It was a Hariyama and I caught it in Victory Road.

I never trained it though 'cause I don't like Hariyama, or fighting types in general, at all.

That's the only downside to the shiny when you really don't even like the Pokemon. So now Koffing is just sitting in my PC box. Lmfao.

The only shiny I ever found was a Cascoon in Emerald, but my FREAKING POOCHYENA CRITICAL HIT IT /cry

Lucky. Years ago I ran into a shiny Natu but I think I beat it by accident. orz;; Aside from the red Gyarados and the Pikachu-colored Pichu event, I've never had a shiny Pokemon. orz
