Aw no, I was hoping for at least some repressed longing for Marr. It sounds more or less like you'd expect, although I did expect more gayitude for his wife Marr. The bits with Bowie are pretty gay though so I guess that's something.

Isn't it always the case that if you're always insulting people you do it for something you hate in yourself? I read a thing about hatemail by some internet feminist last week that said the same thing.

Yes it doesn't seem to go how I'd hoped at all, there is little to no Marr in there and at all times that Marr does appear he rarely speaks about him very personally. Although I confess I've not read anymore and maybe he grows more of a character with reference to the court case against Mike Joyce.

Yeah you're right though it's totally projection going on in his judgements and I'm done with it.

Someone else made the observation but it's true, Morrissey is like Alan Partridge except without the humour, cos he pretty much writes that book in this smug, "Needless to say I had the last laugh" manner throughout and he automatically assumes he's proved his righteousness enough that we root for him and lol no.

Hm, I ordered the autobio, but I don't have high hopes for it. I've been "over" Morrissey for a while now - I've always been able to appreciate his music, but I cringe when he opens his mouth for reasons other than singing. He just seems...cranky and mean. I don't think there is any other way to put it. He seems not-very-nice ( ... )

Yes well I mean this is the thing if you're over him (as I am too), there is little to keep you basically liking him, very very little to admire about him personally apart from his music and even that I find is slipping for me (there's little on his recent albums that I like ( ... )
