It being Does Everyone Stare by Tha Police

The chord sequence (right terminology??) of the piano is wonderfully unnerving and listening to it in when I can't sleep and the dark is suffocating and upsetting to me unhinges me a little more.
I wish I coul get an instrumental of this fucking song.

I'm glad you thought so too. I adore it at the moment. I would upload it for ya but the fucking iTunes version has copy protection on it.

I never listened to them either to be honest, I had always been a fan of a song of their called "Murder by Numbers" but I didn't do any further digging. I was always of the opinion that their music was shite and lame.

Until recently I was reading a music magazine about them and the quotes were insightful and funny and they had some review of all their albums and I grew intrigued.

So I listened to some samples on iTunes and read Andy Summers book and viola!! I am now properly in love with them.

I mean Andy Summers is a wonderful guitarist, his parts are always r inventive, solos that aren't wanky and that enrich the piece always and Stewart Copeland's drumming and Sting's lyrics can be pretty good sometimes too. A v good band - which is a fact that took me by suprise.

hah! murder by numbers is such a random song of thiers to like! :D

you do know that stewart wrote the lyrics to does everyone stare? and that that great little opera snippet before it switches to sting singing is there because stewart i think it was, was recording that piano part he had just come up with in his house kitchen or summat before he forgot it and the radio was tuned to like opera and it picked that up and it got recorded in from there, off the radio in the kicthen or whatever. and they kept it in.

there are loads of things like that, like i think its in roxanne that there's a random piano noise and a laugh at the start and its actually sting falling on the piano cos the studio they recorded it in was so small there was no space.

I did know that stewat wrote it, I'm also a big fan of Contact at the moment... but I didn't know the other things - I noticed the little opera part and kinda wondered why that was there.

That's so cool, I love knowing these things...

Um, hello! :)

I was recently looking through the lennonharrison archives and I enjoyed reading your stories there. If your Beatles muse still visits you from time to time, I've set up a little drabbling community for multiple pairings, cellarfulofboys, and I'm looking for good writers to join it. If you're interested, you can reply to the invitation under Manage >> Communities >> Manage Community Invitations, which will give you posting access.

Apologies for the journal intrusion; I know many people have turned off their e-mail notifications for community invitations, so I want to make sure that everyone who gets an invite is aware of it, and it seems the best way to do that is to leave comments here and there. Hope you'll consider joining us!
