Everyone knows there is an abandoned house across the street from us. By abandoned I mean that people own the house, we see them once a year, maybe, pull up and check things in the house, but they don't live there. No one lives there. It's empty 99.9% of the time, except when the owners drive by to check it. Don't forget that the owners love

I'm thinking not. If you ever watch Animal Planet...When they go into the houses if the animals are left in their own filth or if they do not have food or a clean water supply they won't take the animals but leave a warning that they need to clean it up. The only times I've ever seen them take animals is when the animals are emaciated. But I don't know what the laws there are. Sorry that you have a bunch of Rotty's for neighbors. Do they seem wild? You said they run around in packs? Eek!

I don't watch animal planet, although I did watch an episode of Meerkat Manor once.

They seem wild, but only because there are a billion of them. I called the sherrif (but I didn't call the deputy) and he said that once we know there is abuse they can intervine, until then our complaint is simply lodge. suck.

Did you ask them what their definition of abuse was? You said the door is open for them to run in and out of, can they get out of the gate to terrorize the neighborhood? That might be a reason too, if they are a danger to you and yours. We have a client at my work who her dog was attacked by 10 chows and she made a complaint, they have also terrorized other neighborhood dogs and even gone after some humans. I haven't heard lately if anything has happened to them. Keep an eye out though. Mark when you see the owners come and how many days in between that they don't come. Barking in the middle of the night, other things of safety for you and for the dogs. Again I'm sorry..Somehow the laws don't make sense to protect the owner and not the animals or other people.
