I wish I could take credit for rescuing a maiden from certain path-peeing, but rain actually decided not to stay for her own reasons (a big one being that they were Not Cool with her being a mormon, which at the time was very impotant to her).

I'd forgotten that their not wanting me to go to church weighed in on my decision not to stay. Beautiful irony of one cult cock-blocking another.

I definitely got the full blast of their loving acceptance gun, it was hard to go when so many of the positive things about their environment I just didn't have the life experience to know were available elsewhere. Even though at the time it was difficult and I was slipping into their judgmental attitude ("God Luka we could be happy here if you'd just try a little harder blah blah blah" btw I'm so sorry what a fucking prat I was) I'm really thankful that you were there as a foil because they just weren't hitting my internal alarms the way that they should have been, but seeing how they treated you, ultimately, made me realize how fucked up they were. I'd just wanted to belong SOMEWHERE so BADLY that it took a long time before I could do justice to your experience.

I checked out their website. To be honest, it does look like it could be easy to get sucked into that place. I'm very glad you and rain got out.
