Little sister's graduation!

Jun 10, 2012 21:59

The beginning of the weekend was super busy and insanely intense! It was my beloved little sisters graduation day on Friday, and we all worked hard to make her day super extra special! ♥

This is my sister, right after they'd had their so called "race" out of the school and she'd come to find all of us waiting for her in the grounds outside!

Graduations are a lot different in Sweden - I've just learned :-)

I think this "running out into the real world" sounds very nice!

Lots and lots of yummy food too! *.*

(and are those McDonalds cups there in one pic?)

Now I'm curious - how do you celebrate?? Here in Sweden, in between the "running out of school", and the celebration at home, the students go on a ride in cars or trucks. Some have cabs, but the most common thing is that the class rent a truck with an open board, and they dress it up with leaves and balloons and ribbons and stuff, put speakers and play music and goes around with the truck dancing and singing and drinking. (Someone else is driving the truck of course, ha ha!) It's one of the highlights of graduating, I think, and me and both of my siblings celebrated like this with our classes on graduation!

And just because it's fun to share differences in how we all celebrate, I found a pic of a so called "studentflak" on google:

For me and my year (we were 150 people graduating that year in my school), we didn't do that much as nobody really felt responsible to organise anything, but for smaller groups (30-80 students in one year) it should work like this ( ... )

the too much booze seems like the main common point of all graduations around the world, lol! XD

I also went to a graduation this Friday. It made me really nostalgic somehow.
All the food looked delicious! :)

Jag förstår det! När mina bröder, särskilt kanske den lilla, tog studenten var jag alldeles sådär också! Det är så fint med studenten!

What a feast!

In France there really isn't much of a "graduation", you pass the baccalaureate exams (or not), and that's about it. More in the US, however, though maybe not quite so nice as it seems in Sweden.

Congratulations to your sister on her graduation, and to you for preparing the feast!

It was SO much food, oh my god. O_O We were still eating left overs on Sunday evening...

It really is interesting to hear how other countries celebrate their graduation! in Sweden this day really is one of the biggest days of celebration in ones life!

Thank you!
