Little sister's graduation!

Jun 10, 2012 21:59

The beginning of the weekend was super busy and insanely intense! It was my beloved little sisters graduation day on Friday, and we all worked hard to make her day super extra special! ♥

This is my sister, right after they'd had their so called "race" out of the school and she'd come to find all of us waiting for her in the grounds outside!

Of course I have some more

the day started with her class all gathering at our dad's place to have their champagne breakfast. I'd promised to make the breakfast for them, so I'd been up late the day before and up early that day to get everything ready. Me and Sister made finger sandwitches, sliced up exotic fruits and made chocolate covered fruits and berries. I made lots of finger sandwitches on purpose since graduation day is often a day of heavy drinking and intense partying... I figured they'd be able to keep steady on their feet for longer if they started the day with some proper food in their belly. XD

They were like a swarm of grasshoppers and all the finger sandwitches were gone pretty much right away! XD

Yummy!

After they'd finished their graduation breakfast they all headed for the school, and I stayed home making the rest of the preparations for the reception/party in the evening. Sister had demanded for us to make smörgåstårta ("sandwich cake") for the party and so I finished making them and then when the time were almost noon all of us started heading towards her school where we were to see all of the students run out from the school and "out into the real world" and oh my god, I was already tearing up as we arrived and the whole mood was absolutely wonderful. There were already so much people there - families, and friends, and relatives, all waiting for ther sons and daughters, friends, siblings... to come out. And that kind of atmosphere just... I couldn't believe that my youngest sister was graduating already!

We waited for a while as the classes strted to run out, one by one. Naturally, my sisters class was the second to last to come running out! And I'm tearing up again typing this but she was so so happy, they all were, and the atmosphere really is like nothing else! It's so extremely happy and joyful and wahhh! *wibble*

And then she came running towards us (it was me, our brother, mom, dad and dad's girlfriend, and also sisters best friend) and she started crying, and I was crying, and mom was crying and it was just a big emotional hugging-party for a while, as we all started to hang or presents around her neck. (It is custom to bring a small present to the students, like a toy, or champagne, or flowers, or something, and have them in a ribbon to hang around their necks.)

Touched sister! ♥

Sister, me and brother! ♥♥♥

Afterwards we all went home to wait for the relatives and friends to celebrate more, with cakes and sandwich cakes and presents and drinks...

Buffet table! The cake in the shape of a students cap were bought from a pastry shop and it was soo cute!!

Close up's of the sandwich cakes I made!

Present table... and that was before the guests arrived...! O_O

It was a super lovely day, and everyone had fun and my sister seemed ridiculously happy!

Congratulations again, dear sister! ♥
