"Zsadist"?

I tell you, the things you find on the internet without even trying.

The fact that these are actual published novels -- indeed, New York Times bestsellers -- makes me feel a lot better about reading comic books, but also a lot worse about finishing my novel.

“The pulsing mound of eldritch gelatinous horror unfolded its hideous, glistening spiriform tendrils, sending them spinning, slowly and with achingly brutal tenderness, to rest within the petals of my pungently opening flower. In that moment, all terror melted in the heat of a heretofore unknown longing, and at last, I was a Woman.”

I don't know who posted that, but it wasn't me, because I stopped like, thirteen comments ago.

After graduating from law school, she began working in healthcare in Boston and spent many years as Chief of Staff of one of the premier academic medical centers in the nation.

Wait...huh? This career path does not compute.

Well, she became a lawyer, probably worked in a management position in a university hospital instead of going into a law practice, and ended up chief of staff.

I guess I just assumed that someone who is "Chief of Staff" in "healthcare" would have some medical background, not just a JD.

I can't stop pronouncing "Phury" as "Furry," which makes this bio all the more entertaining:

Phury: the loyal one, the one who sacrifices himself for others. Phury is Zsadist's twin brother and a celibate who cannot truly live because of everything his biological brother has lost. Used to giving rather than receiving, he needs love coming back at him to bring him alive.

Looking through some of the utter pap my company prints, I am sometimes very glad I'm not a writer.

Her first line in the first interview is as far as I feel I need to go:

J.R.: Hi. (I smile, feeling a little foolish.)

I'm sure you must, ma'am.

I think it's to time to get back to work on the first volume in my series: Bob Menkist, Vampire Dentist.
