I am home. I feel like it's been forever since I've been here. In a way it has been. Excluding a week upon my return from Africa I haven't been home for a whole month this summer and I'll be gone a total of a whole other month by the time it's over. Hey, totally OT. I have a problem with your hat. Due to the nature of the yarn, I can't do the cables. The yarn changes sizes, and if you want to actually see the cables, we need to pick out a different yarn. Whatcha wanna do?

umm lemme think.. Maybe you can use that and make a baby sweater? One of my best friends is 7 months pregnant...?

I'm not saying I can't make you a hat. I'm saying that it's not going to have the cables in it.

And that is sooooooo not enough to make a sweater out of, even for a newborn. A tiny hat and booties, maybe, but not a full sweater. And really, not a baby yarn.

Ummm so can you make me a hat like the last one, but make a softer end row? And then tell me what yarn will work?

Mason, you are such an incredible soul. I love you so much. I know in my heart that you will be an incredible parent and that the child that chooses you as a parent will be a lucky and fabulous kid, indeed.

Thanks for your perspective with regards to Blake. I feel blessed to have someone in my life who can see him for the brilliant, funny loving kid he is and not just his challenges. I know he is missing you. He went out to find you at 4am on the futon, but came back to bed in the bedroom when you weren't there.

He really does love you, Mason, and I know why. You are one of the most loving and beautiful men I have ever had the pleasure to know. I hope you find another world class snuggler to fill that void in your life, but until then, you can borrow mine anytime.
