It's nice to know that our thoughts on these things are so in sync. On your father's comment, when someone you love has been harmed, there is a revenge factor that is difficult to overcome with logical thinking.

War is horrible -- there are so many pictures of suffering innocents that never make it to the press. I absolutely abhor the state of affairs in the world today -- and it all revolves around money. War is very, very good for troop/base support contractors and arms makers, and countries/entities that loan the money to pay them. Most of the shit on TV is just empty & false platitudes to keep the masses convinced that we're doing the right thing. If they really wanted to help people overseas, they would start by leading by example -- peace instead of murder or "killing insurgents" as they like to call it to make it sound ok ( ... )

i completely agree with what you said about abortion, i just didn't get around to mentioning a lot of things regarding that!

as for the taxes thing, thanks for telling me all about that! it was interesting to read, especially since i don't have a firm stance on that subject, so it's nice to grasp the issue more fully! :)
