War is horrible -- there are so many pictures of suffering innocents that never make it to the press. I absolutely abhor the state of affairs in the world today -- and it all revolves around money. War is very, very good for troop/base support contractors and arms makers, and countries/entities that loan the money to pay them. Most of the shit on TV is just empty & false platitudes to keep the masses convinced that we're doing the right thing. If they really wanted to help people overseas, they would start by leading by example -- peace instead of murder or "killing insurgents" as they like to call it to make it sound ok.

i was raised democrat/liberal but have always been willing to listen to the other side... while i am certainly no conservative, i have changed my views on taxes. I don't think our government should really tax our income -- we should tax imports -- especially cheap shit from china or other places where they severely underpay their employees or ruin the environment/put others in danger to create their products. Problem is, those big fat "evil" corporate bosses who bitch about taxes definitely would not like that idea -- it would mean less income!

If you an hour to kill and are in an insightful mood -- I would recommend checking out Part 3 of the movie Zeitgeist, and the first half of Zeitgeist Addendum, as they really have a very insightful look into how fucked up our money system is... taxes actually don't go to help the people, they go to pay interest on the loans we borrow from the federal reserve to help the people. This cycle keeps us in dept forever, makes our money slowly lose value via inflation, and keeps the real power in those that run the banks, and those that win the contracts and bribe our congressmen/senators for all that public loaned money. I work for the state, and there is a good bit of waste and "good ol boy" system going on.

I don't think abortion should be illegal, but I definitely don't think people should be just trashy and fucking without condoms with the justification in their head being "oh i can just have an abortion if i get pregnant". That nonchalant attitude towards something I view as pretty sacred -- conception -- is just sickening to me. Abortion is a big deal, and not a decision to be taken lightly... but it definitely should not be illegal, because that'll only open the door to illegal and unsafe abortions!

I hope I don't bother you with my big blabby comments haha

i completely agree with what you said about abortion, i just didn't get around to mentioning a lot of things regarding that!

as for the taxes thing, thanks for telling me all about that! it was interesting to read, especially since i don't have a firm stance on that subject, so it's nice to grasp the issue more fully! :)
