Congress Votes.

Dear Congress,

Please stop acting like ridiculous children. Oh, and stop praising the people that opposed the bill by calling a Congressman a racial slur.

Thanks,
Beth

PS: Whichever one of you called Rep. Stupak a "baby killer" needs to be censured for violating the basic rules of decorum.

Now, this is a post about the Healthcare Reform Vote in the US. I don't think I need to say this, but I'm saying it anyway: If you don't agree with my view, that's fine, but please remember to be respectful. )

*Waves* Hey girl hey.

I'm all for people having health care, my dad has some pretty major health issues and I don't have insurance even though my parents do LOL...but I also don't want to be forced t buy Health Insurance.

With what my father said early he made it sound like it was going to be manditory for people to purchase insurance and I'm not okay with that. I'm all for making things more afforable for those who want and need it, but I'm not okay with being forced to have it does that make sense? LOL *shrugs* Oh well I guess I'm moving to Canada. LOL Have a great night girl! :-D

That's definitely a fair point, and one of the more reasonable issues that people have with this. But, this is the thing about that:

Because you are going to be required to have basic health insurance, the government is taking steps to make it more affordable for you. Also, you don't have to have it by like, tomorrow. The government is building in time for people to adjust. Besides, you're already required to have car insurance, right? This isn't really that different. Plus, you'll be able to go to the doctor if you get sick, and have preventative screenings for things.

But, again, I definitely understand where you're coming from there. I'd like to move to Canada myself some days. ;-)

You know I really love that we can have differing opinions and talk to each other calmly while looking at the other side of the coin. Not many people can do that! Thanks for your response to my reply and I am happy that the bill will at least help those who need it. :-D Have a great day girl!

Dear Congress,

Please stop acting like ridiculous children.

Congress = Politicians, you expected them to be mature about stuff?

I would LOVE a system like Great Britain or even Canada.

Europe (and Canada is heading the same way) is light years ahead of us on both politics and acceptance of alternate lifestyles. I'd love to have a system/culture like theirs too.

It's true. The immaturity of politicians is one of the great universal truths. However, at least our congress doesn't usually come to blows over things while they're in session, like other countries. *cough*Mexico*cough*

If I didn't love America so much, I might actually consider moving to Canada. I just love Canadians. Plus, you know, Supernatural is shot in Vancouver. ;-)

Wow. He...certainly seems like a giant douche character.

We can absolutely escape to Canada together. And, where else is there to hang out in Canada?
