I am supposed to be working on my last sociology of the family paper, so this would be the traditional time to update. Feeling very cold these days temperature wise. I always forget how cold it can get until it gets there. I think we are finally putting plastic on the windows this evening

Oh hello there. It's an Arcadia :)
What's your sociology paper about?

It's about "alternative" families in America (i.e. single-parent, gay marriage, living with a grandparent families). I would like to say that this is going to be a depthy paper, but I have sort of been disappointed by this class on the paper front. It was offered by my favorite professor so far in the program, and she made a big deal out of how since it was a 4000 level class she was going to have us doing more work. The course is more of survey of Sociology of the Family though, so all of the papers are book reviews. This paper is really about identifying each authors thesis and discussing it. It only has to be 5-7 pages. It was a good class, but I am bummed. Is it weird to be bummed about writing a short paper?

Also, lolz at "4000 level class". Never going to get over the fact that big schools have to go into the thousands.

So...it's pretty much like...lit reviews. Isn't that good preparation for theses? (Are you doing one of those?)

Absolutely. Let me just firm it up a bit.

It is lit reviews, definitely. I guess that will be good for thesis preparation, as yes I will need to do one of those. I guess in the short form of these papers it feels very tedious.
