Sorry for the delay (there was a JW at the door)

It's been, what, 3 years since I've been here? Here's the update, with free mood whiplash:

  • Based on DreamWidth now, x-posting to LJ.
  • Still single, but now resigned to being foreveralone--I still have that scientist-y reluctance to speak in absolutes, but at this point my feelings on the matter are pretty similar to my feelings about the idea of a ( Read more... )

Central PA? blackbriar July 16 2012, 17:14:10 UTC
Central PA is pretty decent. I still enjoy it. Quiet and rural (the other weekend, Melinda and I ended up waytooclose to cows which should have been not so near to the road).

You know, you could visit Central PA. Amtrak comes out here. And I cook great.

I'm happy you're back.
OMG I've been trying to learn to drive as well and wtf turning. I can NOT do it.
Loving the Avengers and some other things.
Mark Ruffalo totally snuck the hotness on everybody.
Fanfiction my early star wars stuff is not so good, but since finding some good beta's my stuff has improved immensely. The last thing I wrote was a Twin Peaks fic for yuletide this past year, but I have stuff I am working on. If you can find a beta who gets you it's so much easier at least it was for me.

What's really weird about Mark Ruffalo is that when he was non-scruffed, you could barely recognize him (though I certainly prefer him scruffy). The actual MAN is sexy as hell too--he seems like a really cool guy ( ... )

Seriously a good beta. That's what mine helps me with. She'll read it and be like it's missing a connection or a mood. So much of my story happens in my head that I used to leave it off the page and things were disjointed. I find that I have to write all the scenes I want and then go back and make the connections. My stories never start out as stories, just scenes. I write the scenes and build around them and hash out plot with my betas. I really can't write alone. Oh I think I have In the Cut on my Netflix que. Time to move it to number one.

FTR, I have a clip somewhere on the hard drive of the longer sex scene...haven't found the "fuck yourself" clip yet.

Mark Ruffalo pretty much giving Meg Ryan a rimjob...the movie wasn't very good but who gives a shit, seriously. The scene starts after she gets nearly-mugged, even if you fast-forward the rest watch from then on.

Never look at the comic cannon - It's enough to give tropers rage-induced cancer - As a (hopefully fairly far removed from your favorites) example, here's what happens to Betty Ross, Bruce's origin-story flame.

I've been lurking around Reddit, but mainly on esoteric nurd stuff like /r/RepRap. /r/Atheism just seems like a noise fest. Anything you rec I look at?

That is some really extensive canon, and way too het for my tastes. ;) But it definitely does point to one of the things I have trouble with--there's so much backstory, it's honestly overwhelming, to say nothing of the diverging canon. I just have to be content to stick with the movie!verse (and some very intriguing info has come from SDCC about the plots of the future movies), but sometimes a story from the comics sounds really interesting. I wish the movies could do diverging canon, it'd be awesome ( ... )
