Two Important Reasons why Watching Tennis isn't the Joy it is supposed to be - and once was

Jan 26, 2012 14:59

1. Roger Federer does not win by default. The horror!

2. All that moaning and groaning of the players makes me want to throw things at the tv. This was unheard-of until the mid-eighties, iirc. Then some pupils of the Nick Bollettieri school of tennis started this annoying trend. Blergh.

roger =/ poor baby. i wanted him to win so bad.
but well. nadal and the djoker just really caught up and overtook him at times. what can you do.
still, he played some great stuff this tournament. so. heads up old man =D

and yeah, the moaning...well nothing beats Sharapova (rarely watch the ladies anyway).

Roger's still the most elegant of them all. They'll never reach his class.

no, not in terms of elegance. but all of them have a unique style and play brilliant brilliant tennis.
I prefer Roger's style to all the others, but quality-wise, they are on par.

I so want a Roger comeback! (And how sad is it that FEDERER, the KING, needs a comeback?)

And, ugh, Sharpie vs. Azarenka--what a screechfest that will be!

Very sad indeed.

(I have to admit I never noticed him much in his heydays as I was watching next to none tennis at the time. My loss completely.)
