Yet Another 5x04 Fic. All the cool kids are doing it, but there's a disturbing lack of Chuck in the ones I've seen so far. And you can never have too much Prophet Chuck. Thus, fic.

There really, really can't. I'm slowly becoming obsessed with all the alternate timelines/universes/realities/etc Show gives us, and now I want to see if there's any way you could actually get from one, to the other, to the other in any sort of logical way. I'm strange and want to read a fic where Sam gets married to Jess, becomes an amnesiac, changes his last name, starts dating Madison, gets a sucky job with Dean as his boss, becomes depressed, and thens give Lucifer his body and stomps Dean to death. IT'S LIKE A CANON-AU SOAP OPERA! \o/

That would be fucking amazing; a fic in which it happened differently over and over and got to the exact same moment every time. And in the end Dean is like FUCK IT, CAS, GIMME SOME OF YOUR DRUGS.

Guh, thinking about what happened to the rest of the survivors makes my heart ache. This was hauntingly beautiful.

This was both beautiful and tragic - poor Chuck, I mean, it must really suck being him. A friend and I were commenting how amusing it is that Chuck, of all people, seemed to have retained the most sanity over 5 years, how he was the only one who still somewhat resembled the person he had been in 2009. How awful it must be, as you show here, for him to still be so aware, just watching his friends slowly dwindle away into nothing.

Him keeping track of Cas' drug consumption? D: So sad!

The last lines really hit me like whoa. So simple, but so to the point. And SO heartbreaking.

I'm glad you liked it! Honestly, I think one of the reasons Chuck seemed so (comparably) sane is that he's already learned to roll with the punches. And considering how insane the punches he gets are, a not!zombie apocalypse was probably just one more thing he accepted and moved on with. He's used to adapting after big, crazy shocks.

Oh I am definitely developing a thing for Future Chuck.

That was a really unique take on an outsider PoV too, using his supply lists like that.

Thank you! Originally the whole fic was going to be in supply list format, but there's no way I could have kept that up for how long it needed to be. Or calculate how much of everything people would be using.
