How often do I get to use this icon?

So. Information post. That's...probably necessary for this, isn't it?

For those of you who were around for our last CR/Plotting meme, I made mention of a plan Cata and I have had for a while now. Pretty much ever since she decided that she wanted Ginia to die and, as good muns who want our muses to be happy, we joked about the idea of Giles being ( Read more... )

...House 34 is going to be delighted to find a slaughtered animal on their doorstep and blood on their door with a three-year-old in the house. :|

Grune is definitely not on the victims list, but depending on how circumstances go, she may wind up having to fight back. I'd prefer not to if possible, given that it will tear her up to fight Giles (and tear him up, too--yes, that is a light-elemental spell, and yes, she now remembers enough to cast it). But if someone's backed into a corner and can't find a way to get their character out? I volunteer the wandering amnesiac here.

Also: While Grune won't be nearly as unhesitating as if she had her memories intact, she WILL fight back against Giles if he hurts or is about to hurt someone. Once she makes up her mind, I doubt he'd be able to get her to change it, unless he feigned repentence. Just fyi.

Hey. Hey. It's for their own good. It's like Passover. You put the blood on the door, you don't get eaten. Or so he'll be thinking. And I'll have to check with Fen, because Giles might actually have met Sophie by then...

He'll still be around on journals, although not as much. And while he's still disoriented and succumbing, it might be possible to find him before he runs off. But he will run off.

I'll keep you in mind in case anyone needs a quick bailing out. But, yeah, might be best to keep these two at a distance. Although it probably says something that Grune was the one case where I considered allowing Giles to get killed.

Los Muertos vamps seem to not be as good at feigning human emotions as Buffyverse vampires. So I think even Grune might be able to see that any attempt will be quite false. A question, though, if it does come down to a fight - would Grune's amnesia make her more or less susceptible to mental attacks? Or would it not really make a difference.

Oh lord, Fenimore and Norma are going to be flipping out ROYALLY if they find out their babysitter got vamped. Funtimes.

Think I'm gonna have Grune only run into him on the journals very early on, because if he runs off, she'll try to find him, and, um, no.

...XD You horrible, horrible person. Why would you do that to Grune?

My headcanon is that for all Grune looks like an easy case to psychics and the like, in reality, due to her true nature, she's got the mental equivalent of Fort Knox going on. If Vamp!Giles does try anything funny with her, he'll be very, very surprised.

That...would be a black mark, yes. Although he might have had a few times babysitting by then, so he could have wracked up some good karma!

Honor of finding him just as the vampire comes out goes to Ginia and Helios, and what's due to happen to them leads me to add a hell no. Journals is fine. He'll still be faster than her, so if you want him to run into her in person at the start he could still get away by outrunning her. In the thirty six hours before he turns, he will be pretty sick, disoriented, humanish, and harmless.

BECAUSE. It's dark and awful and I'm a horrible person. I even mentally wrote out a fic where he killed her, but I didn't write it, because how do you put words to that? You don't. I can think it, but I can't write it.

That makes sense. And is very, very good for Grune. Because she does, and she would, and Giles would try, and something as powerful as he'll be needs a few nasty surprises at least XD.

Ami would definitely be compelled to try to -stop- Giles. And/or find a cure to keep this from spreading.

Any room in this plot for assisting stopping him, and/or working on a medical angle to this cure, as you portray it as a virus?

It has viral-like properties, but also has a demonic element. It took Ammi's god powers to cure Derek of it his last stay here. It's part of the reason Derek wound up wandering around 'sick' in various stages for so long.

What Derek said. It spreads like a virus, and it has virus like elements, but there's also a lot of demonic elements involved. He won't be able to infect anyone at the start, although he certainly won't know that and will try to turn close CR.

Plenty of room to assist stopping him! Ami with a canon update, and maybe some help from Usagi, could probably give him a fight.

Derek will, of course, be available for vampire killin' lessons for folks, as well as any damage control you may need.

And vampire killin' lessons will probably be needed. I think Buffy is the only other one who knows how to stop this sort of vampire? So, yeah, The More You Know!

I know Derek told his closest CR and a few other folks he trusted...but I think other than Buffy, yeah, most of not all of them have gone home.

I think we have most stuff figured out for these two (I think?) But uhh Helios will try to do some damage control, even help stop Giles. Depending on his mental state after the initial encounter.

Most stuff, yes. Or at least we know how it will start. But since Giles definitely wants Helios infected and not dead, he should be in...functional shape for damage control.

Functional shape...meaning that Giles is going to bite him and mess with his miiiind. Okay maybe he won't be in such good mental shape for things.

Bite him, mess with his mind, kick him around a little when he doesn't behave. Come on, Helios, you've survived worse.

11th or 12th, yes. Got a preference otherwise?
