So. Information post. That's...probably necessary for this, isn't it?
For those of you who were around for our last CR/Plotting meme, I made mention of a plan Cata and I have had for a while now. Pretty much ever since she decided that she wanted Ginia to die and, as good muns who want our muses to be happy, we joked about the idea of Giles being

Grune is definitely not on the victims list, but depending on how circumstances go, she may wind up having to fight back. I'd prefer not to if possible, given that it will tear her up to fight Giles (and tear him up, too--yes, that is a light-elemental spell, and yes, she now remembers enough to cast it). But if someone's backed into a corner and can't find a way to get their character out? I volunteer the wandering amnesiac here.
Also: While Grune won't be nearly as unhesitating as if she had her memories intact, she WILL fight back against Giles if he hurts or is about to hurt someone. Once she makes up her mind, I doubt he'd be able to get her to change it, unless he feigned repentence. Just fyi.

He'll still be around on journals, although not as much. And while he's still disoriented and succumbing, it might be possible to find him before he runs off. But he will run off.
I'll keep you in mind in case anyone needs a quick bailing out. But, yeah, might be best to keep these two at a distance. Although it probably says something that Grune was the one case where I considered allowing Giles to get killed.
Los Muertos vamps seem to not be as good at feigning human emotions as Buffyverse vampires. So I think even Grune might be able to see that any attempt will be quite false. A question, though, if it does come down to a fight - would Grune's amnesia make her more or less susceptible to mental attacks? Or would it not really make a difference.

Think I'm gonna have Grune only run into him on the journals very early on, because if he runs off, she'll try to find him, and, um, no.
...XD You horrible, horrible person. Why would you do that to Grune?
My headcanon is that for all Grune looks like an easy case to psychics and the like, in reality, due to her true nature, she's got the mental equivalent of Fort Knox going on. If Vamp!Giles does try anything funny with her, he'll be very, very surprised.

Honor of finding him just as the vampire comes out goes to Ginia and Helios, and what's due to happen to them leads me to add a hell no. Journals is fine. He'll still be faster than her, so if you want him to run into her in person at the start he could still get away by outrunning her. In the thirty six hours before he turns, he will be pretty sick, disoriented, humanish, and harmless.
BECAUSE. It's dark and awful and I'm a horrible person. I even mentally wrote out a fic where he killed her, but I didn't write it, because how do you put words to that? You don't. I can think it, but I can't write it.
That makes sense. And is very, very good for Grune. Because she does, and she would, and Giles would try, and something as powerful as he'll be needs a few nasty surprises at least XD.

Oh, I definitely don't want her finding him as a vampire. I was thinking of her talking to him on the journals early before he turned. After that, she can go have a picnic with Dhaos and get distracted or something.
Eesh. Not that I can talk, because North and I once worked out what'd happen if Dhaos genuinely lost his mind, and, um, same end result for Grune, pretty much! The closest I imagine I'll ever come to writing that one is that one sentence out of my Dhaos/Grune set, and that's it.
He might really be in for one, because now that I'm thinking of it, Vamp!Giles might be able to hit the right buttons to pull out True!Grune for like...a comment or so. No guarantees, but it is the right kind of situation for it. So.

I also had a fic idea where she tries to protect him from Grell and gets killed for it. That was what the last sentence in their theme was born from. :| We're going to hell.
He might. When he's like this, Giles is a greatest danger to his friends because he remembers a ton of stuff about them. That's why Helios and Ginia are going to end up in such bad shape - he knows how to mentally torture the hell out of them. No guarantees, but it is. We'll see how it goes. If he does, though...yeah, probably best Grune stay inside, after that.

We really are. And the hilarious thing is if she had her memories back, I highly doubt even Grell or Dhaos could kill her. This amnesiac state is bad for her health.
Yeah, that would make things...pretty painful. But again, if he looked as though he was about to hurt someone, that'd be it. Horrible emotional pain or no, she'd be going after him.

...Also if she is the first to see the blood-painting bunny she will scream so loud.

...and I doubt she'll be the only one.

Suddenly, that morning, Luceti is rocked by screams.

Seriously, if I don't get everyone freaking the fuck out over the dead animals and blood, I am a horrible writer.

Would wandering Grune like to find Helios and take him to the clinic? :D

As for finding Helios, Grune wouldn't particularly like to find one of her friends brutally injured and bleeding all over the place, but you know. XD;; Provided she manages to slip out from under Fenimore's paranoid eye, I'd be totally up for Grune finding him! It'll make Fenimore scream even more when Grune returns home covered in blood. :D She's both tall enough and strong enough to help him along, and actually, that would work out very nicely for an ongoing personal plot I have--I've been trying to nudge Grune towards a pact with Nala for months. Helios and Giles needing healing she can't provide in the space of a week oughta get even her getting down to work. :Db
