ALL THE DAYS lostinmyway November 23 2011, 01:35:54 UTC
[Grune isn't exactly the best painter, but she can do a wide variety of recognizable flowers and apply flat colour with the proper direction. She pretty much comes and goes on all the days, depending on her memory, so people can expect to catch her at a bunch of random times. She's also not the tidiest painter, so she's likely to be speckled with different colours by the end of each day.

When she isn't painting, she's likely to be found chatting or...attempting to bring refreshments to people, although the likelihood of her succeeding is reasonably low. Still, she tries.

New friends and old welcome, of course!]

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY lightningcute November 23 2011, 11:18:35 UTC
[Pao-lin's taking a short break from her own work to check up on how other people are doing. And a good thing too, because...]

Ah...Grune, that area's supposed to be yellow, not orange.

[Grune pauses to take a look at her very orange work.] Oh, is it?

[Nodnod.]

But it's okay, we can fix it. You can just blend the yellow with the orange for now, and then once the paint dries we'll paint over it.

Saturday and Sunday mostly! But she'll probably poke around on all the days! talontrot November 23 2011, 05:43:33 UTC
[Kazooie is no artist, that is certain. But that doesn't stop her from trying when bragging rights are involved!

Friday will probably mostly see her as a feathery red decoration mooching off the food and asking annoying questions, but she'll be willing to help out with flat colouring if bribed asked nicely enough.

Saturday, however, has Kazooie taking a more active role. If by "active" you mean "probably screwing things up with her overeagerness". Also she might get feathers in the paint... feel free to admonish her!

Sunday is when she actually starts to shine, though, because that's when she can start adding her own personalized touches. She's not great at it, and watching her try to paint with a foot or a beak is funny - though she'll Feather Finger it up at times - but she will eventually be able to produce recognizable objects - something like this will be the most prominent feature, but pictures and objects from Kazooie's home worlds may also appear, albeit messily rendered ( ... )

[Hey, birdie. Pao-lin's just gonna stand and watch you Feather Fingerpaint for a little bit. She has to admit that she hadn't thought about how difficult it might be for a bird to paint, but then again Kazooie doesn't exactly operate by real world logic, so it's easy to forget.]

Sunday it is o/` talontrot November 24 2011, 14:24:10 UTC
[And indeed, Kazooie looks silly and cartoonish right now, putting finishing touches on the nest of bright blue Eggs she's been painstakingly crafting for the past little while. There's a bit of a wobbliness to the lines, as a feather doesn't paint the same way a finger would, but it has a bit of a weird, striking artistic charm to it.

... Okay, maybe that's overblowing it a little.]

... I hope this stuff washes out.

Don't worry, it will! [...eventually.] You're painting eggs, huh?

[Ace decided to wander around to the area of the mural, just to see how it was coming along. He hadn't been aware about how well it was doing, but was extremely impressed with it.]

Damn, that looks really good.

[Pao-lin waves at him from near the refreshments table.]

Doesn't it? Everyone's doing such a good job! [Grin.] Wanna paint something?

They really are! [He pauses for a moment.] Can I?

Totally! That's what this mural is for. [She points to the table full of painting supplies.] Grab whatever you need, pick a circle on the wall, and paint something that you like from your own world.

Sunday (I figured it actually worked well! XD) dragoon_pride November 23 2011, 06:21:04 UTC
[Well, look who showed up? Kain is at least making the effort to do this... thing, despite the fact there are so many people around. And despite the fact that he can't see the colors anyway.]

[So a very... oddly colored dragon begins to take shape as Kain works on it. This is all going very well until he goes to grab a new, completely full can of paint. A very heavy full can of paint. As he looks to the part he's working on, his grip on the can slips and it falls HEAVILY on his right foot...]

This poor unfortunate man. XD lightningcute November 23 2011, 11:27:30 UTC
[Pao-lin actually kind of likes Kain's oddly-colored dragon. Not just because it's a dragon, but there's a certain avant-garde charm to its weird coloring.

Decidedly less charming is when he drops that can of paint on his foot. Pao-lin can't suppress a wince before she goes over to check on him.]

Are you all right?

*AMUSED* dragoon_pride November 23 2011, 15:19:02 UTC
[Kain reacts on instinct: that is, he tries at first to suck it up and deal with it stoically LIKE A MAN. Despite the fact that he felt a lot of very agonizing crunching just then. 'I'm fine,' he mouths. Then he tries to actually put weight on the foot. Very, very, very bad idea. OWWWWWW THE PAIN. IT'S UNBEARABLE. He lifts the leg up and half collapses against a nearby table.]

RYDIA CAN COME JOIN THE PARTY TOO, IF SHE WANTS/NEEDS TO. lightningcute November 24 2011, 06:25:30 UTC
[In an instant, Pao-lin the painter is gone, replaced by Pao-lin the Hero.]

That doesn't look fine to me! We should go to the clinic and get that looked at!

[And here is Pao-lin the Hero...attempting to scoop Kain up in a bridal carry. BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT GOOD HEROES DO. Barnaby you are such a terrible influence.]

Friday and Saturday chikaidestroyer November 23 2011, 09:14:02 UTC
[Well, since he had pretty much volunteered himself to assist, Albert makes a point of actually stopping by the mural later on Friday to see how the painting is going. Considering the height of the wall, he focuses on the higher portions that he can reach.

...Of course, he's mindful that he's likely going to get some paint on himself in the process, so he isn't wearing anything he cares too much about.

He even stops by on Saturday to see how the painting is going. While he's no artist, he can at least attempt to learn something by watching, right?]

[Pao-lin passes by Albert on the way to the refreshments table. She glances up at where he's transferring the design outlines to the wall.]

That's looking pretty good, Mr. Silverberg!

[He pauses in his painting at the compliment, looking over at the young girl with a slight nod.]

Thank you. I'm afraid it's going a little slow.

It's okay -- I think most of the people here haven't done anything like this before, myself included, so of course it'd take a while to figure things out. But it'd probably go a lot slower if we didn't have as many volunteers to work on this, too.
