Summary: The snow coming in is doing a bang-up job on our fruits. Cocoyashi ladies don't much appreciate that-come help them, because they are way over their heads at the moment.

Day One

[wildkotetsu]

[A streak of blue wooshes by, jumping into a tree she hasn't yet shielded by the snow; and it's only a good 10 seconds, and then a head of brown hair full of leaves poking out of the bottom of the tree. And then Kotetsu swings on down, the tree picked nearly clean now, with two baskets of mikans hanging rather heavy on his forearms. You know. The baskets you put on your back.

He lowers them down, before slipping out of the tree like a doofus and landing on his back.]

Itchchchch-!!

[Aaaand the blue glow fades out as he rubs the back of his neck.]

Still the same time, at least...

[Ah! He jumps up, smoothing out his vest and coat. Totally cool, okay. Forget that he's disheveled and he's got some leaves in his hair and his sleeves are all uneven. When you're going so much faster than usual you tend to mess your attire up a bit. :|a]

[Aa, right, right. He unrolls his sleeves, rubbing his arms. Now that she mentioned it (and he was stationary for once)...]

Maaa, just a little! I guess I've been working so hard, I didn't really notice...

You should put on a coat! Or at least have something warm to drink. Running around like you are in this weather will just get you sick.

I guess I could go get something warm to drink! And that item shop's always opened, so maybe I'll snag a coat while I'm at it... [... Oh, right!] Maaa, but don't sweat it! I've got a pretty good immune system!

The name's Kotetsu, by the way. Nice to meet ya'.

[She blinks a little, taking in all that.] Yes, you should probably do that. I'm Katara. It's nice to meet you too.

Katara!! [He grins, suddenly remembering why she looked so familiar.] You were one of the people dealing with the weather, right?? You were doing some pretty flashy stuff out there!

[...he'd somehow missed it?] Thanks, but it wasn't that flashy.

[It's not like she had to stop each individual snowflake and hold it - this was just gathering it up and turning it into something else. Still good practice, but much less control and precision than what she considers flashy.]

That so? Is that kinda' power typical in your world, or were you born with it? A lot of worlds around here seem to work so much different than mine, anyway...

Well, you're born with it, but there are benders in every nation. And it's not like you automatically know how to do it, you have to train. What kind of powers are common on your world?

Aaa... Well, that's a pretty difficult one to answer. Y'see, each NEXT user can be anything, really. I know someone who can make fire, and another who can change his appearance into anyone he wants-and I've even seen one who can manipulate statues or dolls to move on their own.

[She blinks.] Wow, that seems pretty random.

Yeah! But doesn't that make it even more exciting? You'll never know what kind of power you'll run into! It's like getting a toy out of a quarter machine!

[GOOD METAPHOR. I'M SURE KATARA KNOWS WHAT A QUARTER MACHINE IS.]
