Oh, right! That's definitely important. [She's been up and about for a while, so she's checked up on most of the ones she's been worried about.] Well, I'll be in the plaza giving out candy, so if you want you can find me there later!

[She reaches into her bag of candy anyway and pulls out a particularly large chocolate bar with a colorful wrapper. She holds it out to Hubert.]

[He stares at the chocolate bar in her hand. He hadn't expected to receive anything in Luceti, and on this day, no less. Slowly, he reaches up and takes the candy from her.

[Pao-lin starts walking away, but then she stops. Hesitantly -- almost shyly -- she turns and smiles at him.]

[There's a slight pause on his end, before he "blurts out" the first reason that comes to him.]

It was the least I could do. You'd been helping the entire village to the very end.

[She stares at him quietly, processing his answer. It makes sense, she supposes, but she still believes that he did more than what was required of him in that situation. He could've just left her; she'd told him to leave, in fact. Because Heroes should be able to stand (literally or figuratively) on their own no matter what, right?

But...Heroes should be able to accept help from others, too. After all, she and the rest of the Sternbild Heroes (along with Ms. Joubert and the main HeroTV production staff) had only been able to take down Maverick and Rotwang by working together and supporting each other.

Either way, she's grateful to Hubert. Although she hasn't known him for very long, she already feels as though she can really count on his support when the going gets tough. Though she hopes she doesn't have to ask that of him too much.

There's another small smile from her, and then Pao-lin leaves for good, her wings fluttering behind her.]
