"Mornin', Annielove," Jack mumbled. The pirate was still in that warm place between sleeping and waking where dreams began to flit into the background with little bare footsteps and reality blossomed. Or something.
Totally, completely unaware of any late-night hijinks, the pirate smiled and stretched, not opening his eyes.
"We're alive. I'm sore. Jilly asleep? What's for breakfast?"
the kitten of horrors.slayingOctober 31 2011, 15:37:40 UTC
There wasn't much room left for lying to herself and staying 'asleep'. And so, as Jack stretched, Buffy rolled away and shoved aside pillows and cushions. Freeing herself. They'd survived. Was the moon...?
She took air in through her nose -- sharp but deep -- and pushed up onto her feet. Leaving Jack behind and not yet saying anything. She went first to the front window and twitched the curtain aside. Alive. They were alive. Everyone else would be alive. Which made last night's choice...
No. It wasn't a choice. How could that have ever counted as a choice?
Her voice felt sticky in her throat: "...Jack. I need to -- Jack, about last night."
It was that stickiness that struck him fully awake, in the end. He sat up, all at once. The pillows had fallen down around them, but the house was still standing, safe as ever. Standing around himself and Buffy and...
[Gold groggily wakes up early in the morning, passed out in the plaza on top of Explotaro. Last he remembered, there was something about the village being evacuated because the moon was going to crash into Luceti, and he and Silver were being dragged through the tunnels. And yet, now... Here he is in Luceti again, and it looks like nothing happened. Was it all a dream? Did he imagine it all.
He moves to push himself into a sitting position.]

House 9, then outsidemistlegacyOctober 31 2011, 15:51:43 UTC
[Rydia begins to stir thanks to a particularly loud rumble of thunder and the sound of rain hitting the window just a few paces away. Her eyes open slowly, taking a moment to focus--then she bolts upright.
They're alive. The moon didn't kill them...or if it had, the situation hadn't been permanent. Swaying between relief and utter confusion, she turns to shake Kain awake if the storm hasn't done the job for her. Next is checking on each and every housemate that she remembers as having remained behind. Any that went to the tunnels will get an urgent journal message from her. Don't keep her waiting, please.
Later on, she'll be making a sweep of the town, wanting to see for herself that everything is as it ought to be.]
[Everything was seemingly normal. Seemingly. Ryoga wasn't sure what all had happened and he felt like he missed a lot of things in the last few days. The lost boy managed to stumble upon a familiar green haired woman.]
Hot springs! Then House 34 and around the village.lostinmywayOctober 31 2011, 16:01:07 UTC
[Grune wakes up in the mountains near the hot springs with her housemates, feeling rather stiff from sleeping on the ground. Did they decide to go camping?
...Oh, that's right. The moon was falling. Or was it? It wasn't on the ground. Maybe it had changed its mind.
And so when the House 34 gang head on back, Grune goes to get changed into fresh clothes and then does her usual wander-around-the-village routine, acting entirely as though there hadn't been an apocalypse the previous day. Wasn't she supposed to do something with Giles today...? Or was that later?

I'm not sure. I thought the moon descended last night, but...that can't be true, can it? Everything's fine.
[A sheepish headshake.]
Those last couple of days were horrible. I really thought we weren't going to last, but it's just another experiment, after all.

What would they accomplish from an experiment like that one?
