No, nevermind about that.]
... Azure Grimoire detected.

... Actually, that's most of the time.
With a bit of a groan under his own breath, Ragna grabs the handle of Blood-scythe before pushing off against the trunk of the tree he was using for cover. If he can't have his cover, then there's absolutely no point in waiting to see if she decides to impale him through it or not. He'd rather get the first hit, if he can manage it.
Just a little closer, and he can work his way out to punch her. Or slash. Something that would be a good start.]

He was finally getting close, having heard the cacophony of noise produced by Mu's previous battles with her enemies. Heading into a clearing deep in the woods, he's about to meet the cause of all of this.
...Inevitably, this is where he has his encounter with the Godslayer, Kusanagi. Mu-12. Noel Vermillion, the girl he'd call one of his dearest friends. He enters the clearing wordlessly at first, looking carefully at the armored figure in front of him... she looked.... so very familiar.]

The man before her wasn't any different. She's shaken from the last battle, but she refuses to let it end here.]
Scanning... target confirmed. [...] Threat level is SS.

...A Murakumo Unit. But this wasn't Nu.... and there was only one other one he knew about.]
...Oh no.
[His voice escapes him without a thought. He makes no aggressive moves, inadvertently giving Mu more time to recover.]

No, but seriously. After all the efforts of everyone today, it was Adell who finally did her in. The explosion of Vulcan Blaze gave her some pretty nasty burns, but in a stroke of luck(?) it had also burned away her filial wings, instantly killing Kusanagi.
All that's left from her is silence. Strangely enough, the Godslayer looks... almost peaceful.
It makes sense.]

She hates Adell a little, right now.
But she also hurts for him. He did what had to be done. Better him than...
...
It'll be a while before she asks. Her voice is very soft. And very flat.]
How badly are you hurt?

...What if there had been another way? What if what he did was nothing short of barbaric? Regret builds up quickly in those moments, though it settles back down as he looks back at the crown in his hand and back to Noel.
When Kusanagi was alive, there was nothing in those azure eyes except for rage. Pure, seething hatred for everything and everyone; and though he had seen a being of immense power radiate similar feelings before, even they paled in comparison to the fury Mu-12 had. But at the same time, he wondered... were Kusanagi, Mu-12... what Noel wanted? No. It couldn't be.
...And it's a couple of moments before Nami's words are pieced together in his mind. He glances back at her over his shoulder, his face... exhausted, drained... and hurt, more than anything.]
...Pretty messed up.
[He slowly rises back up, the action an obvious difficulty that he tries to mask in his face. ( ... )
