That seems a much shorter list than those of us who volunteered. But I recall they did not take everyone at once, last time.

The people on this list didn't necessarily volunteer, either. I suppose it's safe to say that as long as you're stuck within the barrier, there's still a chance of you being drafted. And, again, this list is incomplete. There will likely be others.

True. I wonder why they bothered to ask for volunteers if they will simply draft whomever they choose.

Who knows? There was an overwhelming response, if I remember correctly. Maybe they just wanted a general opinion. Or maybe they really planned to force us all to go from the start. We can't be sure, but I guess it doesn't really matter, anyway.

[He was afraid this would happen sooner then expected...Hn and the Princess is on there?]

What options are there for the noncombatants?

The green areas indicate various rest stops that we might be able to use. Depending on how the situation is, they could be used for meeting places, or guarded areas.

So this is the draft you spoke of, before.

Before? [There is a pause.] ...Yes, that's right.

You spoke of it during the thought experiment. [Unseen, but he winces after looking over the list.] Caesar's not going to have Hugo to protect him now.

It was never Hugo's role to protect Caesar. Was it yours to protect the Lady Merces?

[Anise frowns.] I didn't sign up for this! Boo! [Sigh.]

... I really can't back out of this? At all?

The last time anyone resisted going, or stated that they did not want to be involved... the Malnosso sent their automations to forcefully bring them to draft. Efforts will likely be made to prevent those who shouldn't be out there from going, but... we'll have to see how the list ends up. I'm sorry.

[Her scowl just deepens. She knew as well as anyone that when the Malnosso use force, there's no getting out of things.]

Understood. I guess.

So who am I supposed to report to, Miss Raine?

Hmm...is this in relation to the mission of learning who's really behind the kidnappings?

wise_maiden June 22 2010, 12:23:58 UTC
No, this is the draft for fighting the third party. That mission is unrelated to this.
