Rikku sat at the control panel. She didn’t say anything, and she didn’t do anything. All she could really do was sit and stare at the stars that were disappearing. Something wasn’t right about these stars disappearing, but Rikku couldn’t put her finger on it. She had seen falling stars before but nothing like this.
Rikku sat there in silence for a moment before turning her attention back to the auto-pilot to make sure that they were on the proper course.
And they were off again - it was weird, in a way, getting to see more worlds already. Not a bad kind of weird, though, and it was pretty exciting. What was Hollow Bastion going to be like? Probably different from Traverse Town and the Coliseum...
Glancing outside, Tidus leaned closer to the window when he suddenly saw the sky grow brighter. Shooting stars? A whole lot of them and the view from here was great. Wasn't there a meteor shower back home, ages ago, too? Something felt kind of strange, but it was hard to tell what, so he shrugged it off.
"Wow..." Tidus threw a glance at his friends, opening his mouth to comment on the sight, when he noticed the look on Selphie's face. "Huh? Selphie?"
Selphie looked at Tidus strangely for a moment, then snapped out of it. She wiped clumsily at her wet face before replying.
"Huh?...Oh, nothing. Just...I don't know, aren't those stars just so...tragic?" She couldn't formulate the right words to describe the feeling she had. Maybe it was just nothing. Girls got over emotional once in a while, and Selphie was no different.
She put on a smile and forced some cheer into her voice. "Nevermind, I'm sure it's nothing!" she said to Tidus. Then to Rikku, "Hey, how much longer do we have? I can't wait to get to Hollow Bastion!"
Rikku perked her head up when she was spoken to. “Hmm? Oh, um.” Rikku stared at the control panel it looked like it would be a little longer to Hallow Bastion that it took to get to the Coliseum.
“I’m sure it wouldn’t be too much longer.” Rikku lied before settling back into her seat. She didn’t want to tell Selphie that it would take too long because that might ruin the excitement.
