It seemed as though a deathly silence had fallen over Traverse Town. Yohji glanced up once he left the Hotel, staring at the sky full of falling stars, worlds dying. It made him feel sick, empty. With this many stars falling, the skies would seem very empty from now, that much more vast. What if one of those worlds had been where one of Weiss had been? They were lost now.

He stepped out from the light cast by the Hotel's windows, deciding the check this district first. He wasn't entirely sure where Integral had gone and he'd hate to miss her just because he couldn't be bothered to check properly.

If he focussed on business then he could ignore just a bit of the gnawing terror running through him.

And then, out of the corner of his eyes he saw a flare of darkness, like a hole appearing in the air and then a man stepped out. He seemed completey unconcerned with what was happening, turning his face to the sky as though welcoming it.

Yohji narrowed his eyes. That wasn't a good sign. He took a few steps towards the man, watching him

Zexion wasn't strong by any stretch of the imagination. Even the fingers around Yohji's throat seemed to reflect that - he could kill, if he wanted, but this wasn't the way. Still, his fingers remained tight.

He pulled back against the wire around his neck.

Yohji felt the tug against his fingers as Zexion pulled against the wire, knowing that it would be cutting through skin now, leaving a bloody line across the other man's neck. He was a little impressed that he hadn't tried to pull it away yet; most people would have done.

"And we were having such a nice talk," he said, mock-pouting and wrapping the wire around his fingers a few more times to give himself more leverage.

Zexion felt the wire pinch into his skin, but he knew full well that nothing short of beheading would be enough injury to kill him, so he pulled further almost encouraging the tension. "I thought I should give you a chance to pull my strings."

His eyes were half-shut, too serene or simply blank and reflective like a doll. "I don't feel any more alive. I told you it was just a fantasy."

That brought a sharp laugh from Yohji's lips, even as he watched the blood begin to trail down Zexion's neck. Adrenaline had started to flow again, leaving him feeling alert and fresh, despite the small amount of sleep he'd had. "I would've done that anyway," he said huskily. "All you had to do was ask."

He stood, letting the wire go slack, although he was ready to pull it taut again if need be. He shrugged, keeping his eyes locked with the other man's, apparently unconcerned with the odd blankness. "Sometimes fantasties are all you have."

His hand fell away from where it had been resting on Yohji's throat, lips twisting into a smile that could make milk curdle. "You have no idea."

Darkness seemed to gather in the area behind him and Zexion stepped back towards it heedless of the wire still around his neck. He lifted a loose bit of it and pulled it towards the portal by way of explanation.

Yohji's smile faded, his eyes going hard and cold as he drew the Balinese personality around himself, becoming the killer rather than the playboy. Or maybe it was the other way around, and the playboy was just a skin to be shed when it wasn't needed. "Oh, I have plenty of idea."

He narrowed his eyes, scrutinising what Zexion was doing. A door to darkness; that was never a good sign as far as Yohji was concerned. What had he got himself into? Ah well, it was kinda' his job. He pulled the wire a little bit tighter.

Zexion chuckled, that damned breathy laughter that didn't make it beyond the empty eyes. "That's the danger of fantasies... They're just lies from the heart."

Zexion took another step back, and the darkness wrapped around him. Yohji would find his wires falling empty and broken, and all the stars in the sky as gone as when they'd first met.

Yohji's face twisted into a mask of hurt and anger for a second at those words before he regained control of himself, pulling the wire as hard as he could. He knew that! Damn bastard!

His eyes widened as his wires fell cut and useless, the ends falling to the floor. He stared as the darkness oepened, seeming to swallow the other man. Was he crazy?!

Yohji took a step forwards before catching himself. He wasn't so stupid as to enter the darkness like this. He had things he needed to do before he gave up.
