"They're pretty nice rooms up here," Loki said. "I'm staying on this floor as well. Just a few doors from you, actually."
"Are you planning on staying long? I think Sister Mary's looking for another barkeeper. We could certainly use one seeing how often we've had to serve ourselves lately, because Be ... the barkeeper wasn't there."
Joe laughed at that. "Well," he offered, "I have no plans of goign back anytime soon. However, I am used to running my own bar, so if she's looking for someone to take the license, sure. If it's just a matter of serving drinks according to someone else's duty roster: Eh... Not so sure."
Loki laughed. "You'll have to take your sales pitch and conditions to Sister Mary," he reminded them. "I'm just another customer. Or maybe to Adam. He's the man in charge they say."
"She's usually somewhere near the lobby when she's arround, but if you ring the bell and she doesn't come, you're out of luck. She lives somewhere on the ground floor, though," he added not wanting to reveal just how well informed he was.
He walked a bit into the corridor so he could point out the door to 106.
"That'd be the first room there. Sorry for not accompanying you to the door, but I think I'd better get this precious guitar upstairs without any more bumps than are absolutely necessary."
Joe went ahead to the next flight of stairs. "That would be nice," he commented the remark on his guitar. "I'd also appreciate a shower and getting out of these clothes. We've been driving over from Paris after all."
"What? No, I'm just another guest, rather longterm, though. I ... have some business in England over the next months and there's nobody waiting for me back home. Seemed cheaper to just stay."
"It's an interesting place," Loki commented. "Or to be exact it seems to attract interesting people. You'll probably think we're all crazy."
He stopped short at the bottom of the stairs when he realised that there were two strangers in the lobby - and they felt human.
"Hello, can I help you?" he asked. "Are you lost?"

"Well, if this is any indication of the room, I'll like it," he announced.

"Hang on," he put down the bag and the guitar once again protested and patted down his pockets. Pack of cards, dice, his own key ... aha!
Here it is. He held it out triumphantly.

He picked up his load again.
"So, you're traveling around England then?"

"And actually, I believe we'll stay a while."
At least he hoped so, if he was actually going to take over that bar.
