Gabriel occasionally forgot about lunch, but when he did remember that he had a lunch break, he usually spent most of it in his room, spending time with his feline companion. He hadn't given it a name yet, as he couldn't think of one, and anyway it wasn't as though he needed to distinguish it from a large group of cats. At the moment, Gabriel was on the way to his room after a quick, light lunch.

He paused at the door to his room, frowning; he could sense another aura inside. It seemed vaguely familiar, but it wasn't an angel. Strange. Who but another angel would have reason to be in his room? Pushing the door open, he froze in surprise. Loki. The Norse god was actually lying on his bed and cuddling his cat, as though it was Loki's own room, and didn't even appear to notice the Messenger standing in the doorway.

"What are you doing in my room?!"

Loki started back to full wakefulness. Gabriel? Oh no! Well, nothing he could do about that now. Maybe he could charm himself out of this one without a fight, but he doubted it would work on this god.

"Your room?" he asked innocently. "The cat said it was his. Asked me to keep him company for a while. You could have told me you had a roommate."

The kitten of course could neither confirm nor deny his claims and continued to look cute instead.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "'The cat said it was his'? Indeed. How exactly did you earn the title Lie-Smith? 'Smith' indicates some proficiency at crafting lies."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair; he did, after all, owe Loki an apology, and getting angry again wasn't going to help.

"I'll overlook you being in my room with no proper reason without permission, this time, if you will forgive me for jumping to conclusions during our first meeting. It appears that you are simply the American facet of the original Loki?" He should have known, really. After all, the real culprit was supposed to be tied up beneath the Earth, wasn't he? "Did you have anything to do with Daniel Hall before you met him at the Manor?"

"Who said it was supposed to be a lie?" Loki said, eyes sad and innocent. "If the implications are too difficult for you, though, I meant I saw the kitten and he looked lonely. He purred when I gave him my attention, so apparently my company was wanted. Boring enough for you?"

"There's nothing simple about me, I assure you," Loki stated slightly at odds with the impression he'd been trying to give a moment ago."

"Daniel who? ... Oh him! Well, I've had dreams before, but from what he told me that doesn't require him to personally interact with me." He shrugged as if it didn't matter. "Whatever, he's a nice enough guy."
