You captured Ianto's thoughts really well - his attempts at denial are very in character for the timeframe - and quite apart from that it's hot enough to melt the brain!

You really need to get this posted to some of the communities - I'd suggest jackxianto and torchwood_fic - so that more people can read and enjoy it.

I'm already looking forward to the sequel - can't write smut to save my life, but I love to read it.

The sequel has ended up a little delayed because Ianto stopped cooperating at one point. It's run away with me a bit, and has started dragging the rest of the cast in too.

They're nearly impossible to stop when that happens, looks like you'll just have to get carried along until you find the end. I have one like that which I'm still writing, it's getting on towards 10,000 words and I have no idea where the end is. Or WHAT the end will be either. Guess I'll find out when I get there.

Sometimes it's more fun that way - you get a surprise too :)

I do try and do this 'plotting' thing, and know where the story is supposed to go, but in general the characters do whatever they like, and forget the actual plan. I'm sure they do it on purpose to spite me.

Someetimes I have a vague idea of where I'm going with a story, sometimes I jus have an idea of a situation, start writing and see where it goes. It's an adventure either way.

I know one writer who planned out a story expecting it to be about 8 chapters and it ended up being 93 and an epilogue, so you really never know.

My 12 chapter Harry Potter story was a one-shot. I've now got plans for, I think, 25...

These have been more of the 'adventure' variety than the planned one. I kind of knew where they had to end up, but that was to keep it in-universe more than anything else. Ianto had a strop half-way through the sequel, and refused to top, but that was the only real thing I was adamant about happening (so that both stories were about his 'first' time). It took me a while to persuade him, but once I did, he really went for it.

Awww, Ianto wanted to really, he was just nervous, what with it being his first time. I'm sure he's happy now that you persuaded him! Bet Jack is happy too!

I've had no time to read today, I have betaing I'm trying to fit in. I'm itching to read the sequel but I might not get around to it until tomorrow. Life is getting in the way again.
