[ooc: nothing elaborate, just a little drama for the holiday weekend. if you’d like to join in, feel free! ♥]

Their orders were simple: a routine survey mission on a recently-discovered M class planet. Calibria, as it was named, was sparsely populated, with the majority of its inhabitants living in the coastal regions. Paula had skimmed through the diplomatic information, noting that while the Calibrians were by and large uninterested in the arrival of outsiders, they had not objected to the proposed landing party.

Dense jungle and rainforest covered much of the planet, and it was this they were ordered to survey. The science and medical departments had been abuzz for days over the impending mission, speculating on what they might discover in such a rich, virtually untouched ecosystem. Paula was bubbling with excitement as she looked around, taking in the sights at the small, deserted outpost they had been transported to. It made a good base for their explorations, and would be a convenient rendezvous point for the team when they were ready to head back to the ship.

They were the last group to leave the outpost. The team had split according to their instructions, each group taking a different section to explore. Paula shouldered her pack and looked over at Leonard with a grin. "Feels good to be on solid ground for a while, doesn’t it?"
