As Sephiroth nudged closer and closer to what classed as not only full, but surpassed recovery from his ordeal; he found it easier to keep more of the body clock he had enjoyed before. That no matter what time, how late he would stay awake he would always be awake again for the very cracks of dawn. There was something other-worldly about the whole Planet in the minutes before day broke, and overlooking North Corel with it's mountainous backdrop allowed Sephiroth the alone time that he cherished. To open senses to their fullest, and allow his mind to expand beyond physical constraint ( ... )

This was getting ridiculous, there was no excuse for this level of fatigue. She’d been exhausted before, beaten and broken, barely able to walk and she still managed to run - each step as painful as the last, lungs burning from the rush of air - to position herself at just the right location and fire her net gun and catch the President, only to run back down that same distance and meet with her team. Elena remembered watching Rufus’ bout with the ‘stigma, how long took for his body to degrade to the point he needed a cane to walk, then a wheelchair. Was her geostigma accelerating faster because her infection had come from the direct source? That wasn’t a very comforting thought ( ... )

Was she determined, or stubborn? Sephiroth hadn't quite figured that part out yet. Had she followed him out here? Unlikely, they'd all been asleep still when he'd come out here. But then, he wasn't really one to talk even he had made himself get up and out of the mine for fresh air when he probably shouldn't have. He remembered well how burning bright the sunlight had been then. That had only been a couple of days ago right?

It's not like he'd sat there and thought through the consequences of their previous night time together. But it was blatantly obvious she was avoiding him due to it, and while that irritated Sephiroth more he'd already gathered from her response that morning that she was a puzzle that he didn't have the time or patience to sit and ponder on. She needed to figure out herself, it seemed. It seemed a stupid thing to just try and ignore someone's existence over ( ... )

Despite herself, Elena snuck a glace in his direction out of the corner of her eye, not at all surprised to see that he'd watched her every move. He was a predator, she had to always remind herself of that fact, and as far as he was concerned everybody was prey. Her included. Turning her head just slightly, Elena's craned her neck just slightly as if to show off the stretch of black stain that marred her neck like a trophy.

Oddly enough, to Elena is it something of a trophy that also serves as a warning, a punishment. How many people could say they survived being in such proximity of Sephiroth without being impaled Actually, weren't you also... and killed? And, really, she had survived him twice now. But she was marked now, her betrayal more obvious now than the scars she could hide beneath her clothes. That and, really, how many people - that were alive - could say they had sex with the great and infamous General ( ... )

It was foolish to think that their conversations could end without any negative reprocussions. History told her that they never did, that she never ended up - one way or another - coming away without an injury of some sort. And to even consider that he woould feel any sort of sympathy or pity for her situation was ludicris. Just because of their little encounter didn't mean there was anything behind it. Sex was sex, there was no emotions behind it. Right?Eyes widened slighty, words dangerously lethal. The calm before the storm, so to speak, and Elena knew it for what it was. Every muscle in her body tenses, hairs rising on the back of her neck at the sight of the shimmering blue flames that coated the whole of his hand. Her mind was several steps ahead, already trying to anticipate the type of pain that was going to come her way. Was the flame actually going to burn her? Would it put a new mark on her already scarred skin? Or would it do worse....? Elena gave an audible noise of surprise when he moved fast - too fast for her eyes - ( ... )

It felt almost like an extension of himself, this fire that ripped through Elena. It's intention only to test, to trigger the cellular obedience where his influence within her was deep enough to do so. If that meant Elena had to re-live the darkest parts of her locked away memories then Sephiroth felt it only adequate recompense for her. Unfortunately there was much too much imbalance still where it came to Elena, her suitability to their cause and her loyalty to him. Her hand needed to be forced, it had been long enough.

Sephiroth had to raise his arm a little further into the air when Elena's legs gave out from underneath her, holding her hanging from his grip for a few moments before he allowed the couple inches needed for her to rest rather than crash to her knees. Each cry, every little sigh of physical and mental anguish became like a step towards Sephiroth's success. He watched her all the time with not so much enjoyment but achievement; calculating, pondering perhaps how far he could take this. Could he break her like Hojo ( ... )

T-too....too much....I can't - oh Gaia! - no, please! Soundless words bled through in each uttered noise of unrelenting pain, adding their own depth to the level of torture she was being forced through. Images clean and crisp and clear marred the back of her eyes, leaving perfect impressions of each memory that replayed in succession to one another, reminding her, punishing her. Gone was the concern of appearances, Elena could care less how weak or how fragile she appeared, dangling from her arm. Her attention was focused inward, struggling to fight back against the torrent of fear and pain and sadness and grief, and was so-much-so that she was not aware that she had been lowered downward, knees touching ground ( ... )

It had taken Sephiroth every restraint not to just take off for the town right then and there. He felt so invigorated, energized and confident by his rapid recovery that he was certain he could make a go of the town right now. That is, if he wanted to level it to the ground. He could pull the new dome he'd created right out of the sky and cause colossal damage that way had he been inclined to.

It was exactly knowing that the same was not the objective here which held him back. Though Sephiroth wasn't entirely sure why instinct told him to be pre-cautious, heck he hadn't even dared been bold enough to venture into the town for the occasionally needed supplies. Vega had always been more than eager to go for them all, should it be necessary. Sephiroth supposed that it was better this way, that the townspeople be aware of some big change of the horizon but not being able to know what it was just yet. He supposed also that there might be a great deal of opposition to his rule which would need to be softened first. With the forcefield in ( ... )
