As Sephiroth nudged closer and closer to what classed as not only full, but surpassed recovery from his ordeal; he found it easier to keep more of the body clock he had enjoyed before. That no matter what time, how late he would stay awake he would always be awake again for the very cracks of dawn. There was something other-worldly about the whole Planet in the minutes before day broke, and overlooking North Corel with it's mountainous backdrop allowed Sephiroth the alone time that he cherished. To open senses to their fullest, and allow his mind to expand beyond physical constraint ( ... )

This was getting ridiculous, there was no excuse for this level of fatigue. She’d been exhausted before, beaten and broken, barely able to walk and she still managed to run - each step as painful as the last, lungs burning from the rush of air - to position herself at just the right location and fire her net gun and catch the President, only to run back down that same distance and meet with her team. Elena remembered watching Rufus’ bout with the ‘stigma, how long took for his body to degrade to the point he needed a cane to walk, then a wheelchair. Was her geostigma accelerating faster because her infection had come from the direct source? That wasn’t a very comforting thought ( ... )

Was she determined, or stubborn? Sephiroth hadn't quite figured that part out yet. Had she followed him out here? Unlikely, they'd all been asleep still when he'd come out here. But then, he wasn't really one to talk even he had made himself get up and out of the mine for fresh air when he probably shouldn't have. He remembered well how burning bright the sunlight had been then. That had only been a couple of days ago right?

It's not like he'd sat there and thought through the consequences of their previous night time together. But it was blatantly obvious she was avoiding him due to it, and while that irritated Sephiroth more he'd already gathered from her response that morning that she was a puzzle that he didn't have the time or patience to sit and ponder on. She needed to figure out herself, it seemed. It seemed a stupid thing to just try and ignore someone's existence over ( ... )

Despite herself, Elena snuck a glace in his direction out of the corner of her eye, not at all surprised to see that he'd watched her every move. He was a predator, she had to always remind herself of that fact, and as far as he was concerned everybody was prey. Her included. Turning her head just slightly, Elena's craned her neck just slightly as if to show off the stretch of black stain that marred her neck like a trophy.

Oddly enough, to Elena is it something of a trophy that also serves as a warning, a punishment. How many people could say they survived being in such proximity of Sephiroth without being impaled Actually, weren't you also... and killed? And, really, she had survived him twice now. But she was marked now, her betrayal more obvious now than the scars she could hide beneath her clothes. That and, really, how many people - that were alive - could say they had sex with the great and infamous General ( ... )

"And what in the hell exactly do you mean by that remark?" Sephiroth all but snapped back at Elena's sarcasm, irritation clear in his voice but controlled, not angry yet. A slight breeze moved the very tips of silver hair against the back of his legs, tickled their way through his bangs at the front until he had to push a few strands out of his eyes with a gloved hand and a slight flick of the head to one side ( ... )

The breeze was cool and comforting, floating through strands of gold that lifted off her cheek. Elena granted herself a moment to enjoy it, eyes drifting just shy of fully-shut. Since becoming ill with the 'stigma-esque signs, she'd been suffering a constant fever that defied the lack of coloring in her cheeks that normally came with one. A corner of her mouth quirked up into an amused smirk at the sound of his frustration and irritation at her tone. Its not so easy when I'm meek and mild, is it?"Its simple really," Elena started, ambling a few steps in his direction, eyes never lifting from the encampment below as she motioned to it with her hand closest to the ledge. "Despite their various backgrounds, mindsets, wants and needs, there is one thing that has always united them. Hate. And their hate is focused to one single entity. ShinRa ( ... )

Though Sephiroth didn't turn to look at Elena bar the occasional flick of his eyes in her direction, he remained silent as she talked. Her words oddly tied in with his thoughts about the area in general but it only reinforced the fact that this town in particular would be ripe for their taking ( ... )

Oh, so I've been upgraded to a consort now? Lovely! XD <3 you Seph! puisne_turk September 16 2010, 03:11:50 UTC
She was sure the logic was sound. The argument was flawless in presentation, simple enough so that he'd be able to understand. Surely he wouldn't push - no matter how hard she was trying to look capable of standing on her own two legs, beneath the slacks her legs were shaking slightly - she would have to rest again soon, but not until she had gotten herself out of his line of sight.

Although her face remained stoic, her eyes flickered from eyes to mouth, to the muscles of cheeks and forehead, then back to his eyes. It was clear he assessing her current state, as if the black marks were new to him, that he hadn't witnessed the staining of her skin first-hand. Remaining silent, waiting for his next move, Elena let her eyes drift back over to the town, mind wandering dangerously. He...thinks my presence is essential...as much as his. I'm not...what did he mean by that? The rolling of words over his tongue lulled her back from her thoughts. Her eyes narrowed as she listened, picking out words, fumbling them around before moving forward, ( ... )

If she was going to buckle right in front of him it'd be well deserved. He'd already attempted to advise her to go and get some more rest so if her legs gave in the embarrassment would serve her right.

Sephiroth drew his arms up and folded them across his chest, not amused in the slightest by the way she pointed her finger at him. Maybe he should grab it and rip it off, that too would be well deserved. It seems the Turk still needed to learn her place in all of this and perhaps more importantly that she had to accept that she'd put herself here. Just who did she think she was trying to lecture him? Sephiroth was having none of it. Anger which was quieted was stoked back alight with every syllable that she uttered ( ... )

Anger was fleeting, burning fast like a bottle of gasoline until it was all burnt up, blazing flames snuffed out with the easiest of breath and leaving just a single smoky trail. She'd blame her exhaustion, that just dealing with him took a great deal of energy. Keeping the balance of unwanted devotion and accepted frustration of his actions, his words - hell, his entire being - was tiring work.

?...you think you can just call it quits now?" If there was one thing she hated most of all, it was when he was right pointed out the obvious. Like she wasn't perfectly aware that she was probably going to end up on the 'retired' list of Turks, that 'stigma was possibly different than what it had been before (lucky her!), and she had been the one to put herself in all those scenarios. It was a knowledge she was happy to put aside and blame him for every aspect of her situation - but, damn him, he had to keep reminding her of the facts and reality. It was enough to want to make her punch him ( ... )

As usual you don't give yourself the credit due! missed you <3 sephiroth_san September 24 2010, 21:09:44 UTC
To begin with Sephiroth had partly looked away from Elena as her tiny words of disagreement withered away as he had wanted them to. His gaze was drawn back to the town and the sunlight which chased it's shadows away, mind racing more about how to start his little conquest than having to deal with Elena's foundation-less arguments.

Elena didn't silence though, she carried on with a torrent headed by two words. Mother. Displeased. That in itself was the entire reason he hadn't disposed of Elena when he'd first come to his senses in the caves. Elena's 'uses' had been Sephiroth's own cap on his anger at her, at his outrage that against all logic a Turk was selected to be one of his escorts. At Mother's persuasion she had shown perhaps what one of those uses could be, and though Sephiroth was keenly aware of how strange that evening had been he harbored no regret. She could deny it to herself and to him as much as she liked it didn't change the heightened moment of release they had- shared?"Don't patronize me." Sephiroth's tone was lower ( ... )
