Good Thing No. 20

Jan 20, 2010 14:22

Hubby has phoned to tell me that one of the companies with whom I have critical illness cover have written to say they will pay me.

While I didn't really doubt that they would, this is still very, very, very welcome news.

maleghast Do you want your fiver back or shall I add it to the donation I can now (as soon as the cheque arrives) afford to make?

I'm glad they are paying you. After all, what do they think cancer is if it isn't a "critical illness"?

Was thinking we might have to "send the boys round"!!

Take care hon xx

You know while it feels REALLY weird to say it this way, congratulations on the good news.

A friend of mine (someone who works for me) had testicular cancer and we were talking last week about how (now that he is somewhat on the other side of the illness after surgery and chemo) some good has come out of it as his insurance paid out too which took a load of pressure of him and his wife.

Thanks - it is very strange to feel so pleased about something that came out of such an unpleasant experience.

Still, clouds, silver linings and all. This is quite a lot of silver!
