It's a HUGE step for me. I know it's the right one. It will be an adjustment as well, and I'm looking forward to it.
I wish you the best of luck with writing and the mental funk. Those can be very difficult. *hugs*
I don't go to the Rainforest retreats - the timing was never good. And now, well, I can't afford it. Am broke. Hopefully not for the rest of my life, but for now...yeah. Not doing anything, living on a seriously thin shoestring.

I don't have to worry about being impoverished, not yet. The fiancee is helping with some bills (lots of jokes about being the Sugar Daddy...) I have enough savings to cover me for 2+ years. The vacation rental pays for the mortgage, so I don't have to really worry about being homeless. It's just me that I have to pay for, and I've already made a good chunk of what I need to this year via the fiction. Not all of it, no.
With luck, and a bunch of hard work, yeah, I hope to be making a whole lot more next year. And the year after that.
Thank you so much for the moral support! I do need that as well.
I won't be at Norwescon this year. I'll be at a workshop instead. Maybe next year, however...
