I feel like I have to comment on your list because you just won some points with me with your selections (particularly the country ones).

- Suds in the Bucket (Sara Evans)
Hot song. I liked this more after seeing the music video because of the way it looks like Sarah Evans is smiling as she sings.

- I Loved Her First (Heartland)
I can't get over this song. I will probably buy it off iTunes myself on I get my desktop back up (I have some money on my iTunes account, and that machines has the account info saved and I don't remember it. Yeah, lame of me.) I kind of want to dance to this song with my daddy at my wedding (not that my wedding will happen until some unforseeable time in the future), but we had already decided upon "Sunrise, Sunset" when I was engaged last time.

- American Soldier (Toby Keith)
I'm not sure that there's a Toby Keith song that I don't liek.

- Lightning Crashes (Live)I like Dolphin's Cry the best by Live, but when I saw them in concert, this song was particularly awesome. Then again it's probably their most ( ... )

Haha, thanks.

Live Like You Were Dying isn't my favorite Tim McGraw song either, but I needed something to make the transition in the narrative. There had to be a reason for the guy to turn his life around, and this song expressed it as well as any I've heard.

It took me a while to select a song to start the list off. There are many songs dealing with childhood but I went with The Greatest because it was so pure and innocent. It also happened to be my favorite baseball song.

I really wanted to work in As Good As I Once Was by Toby Keith. Love the attitude. It's a bit too cheerful and well-adjusted for this story though. I'll save it for the one of the lists I'm be working on, approximating Robert Heinlein's Glory Road.
