✪ Notes! A Look into the past! ✪ [Text]

I'm not sure if it's of any interest to anyone but I've come across some interesting notes left here, at the Spero Hospital. Quite a few all speak of the Atropos virus. What's interesting is these notes label it as "incurable." The notes continue to list symptoms but the cause is always pointed towards Discedo, stating that they believe the fish ( Read more... )

I can only assume so.

That would make a lot of sense. We were given the vaccine from the scientists last year so we could give it to the Hollisland soldiers who attacked.

[So many horrible memories.]

soldiers who attacked? what did they want?

[ is it something he can use for his own purposes?! ]

The vaccine and some machine the scientists had.

They didn't give us the machine to give. Only the vaccine.

There was much conflict among us. Most didn't wish to give them anything, while others wanted to help. All around it was a horrible sight. Many lost their lives. [Including Cube.]

... It's an interesting idea, that it might have caused conflict between Discedo and the rest of Fortuna. But Discedo isn't the only abandoned place here on Fortuna, right? There doesn't seem to be anyone in Spero or Dissimulo either.

If they never found a cure for it, I can't imagine why there would be people. Many things could have resulted in these places being deserted. People could have attempted to leave, death could have caused them all to fall, or something we haven't discovered yet.

At least we know there are some still out there. Like Hollisland. Still, we're very much int he dark.

It's true that there are plenty of possible causes.. Still, it's a little weird for there to be people in other places, but not here. It's understandable if that incurable disease you talked about took care of everyone in Discedo, but the other cities..

I don't believe it was disease only that caused Discedo to fall.

Perhaps war and disease hurried their fates.

Uh...

[He doesn't actually have much of a pretext for this, so he'll just ask.]

You and Flandre alright over there?

Ah, w-we're alright.

Focusing on getting Flandre something to eat, at the moment.

How are you, Anemone-chan, and Gulliver-san?

...Good luck with that.

[Said a little awkwardly, because he can guess what a vampire might eat in the first place.]

We're just fine. Busy... this place looks like hell. Not that it's ever in great shape.

T-Thank you. I'm lucky to have... some people offering to help.

[it is an awkward subject but Not!Daughter is Not!Daughter and he'll do whatever it takes to keep her alive and somewhat sane... aka not biting people's limbs off.]

I can't even imagine. The city didn't need more to happen to it but it seems it was inevitable.

Are you sure? Have you begun feeling any ill effects?

Kinda like how the Black Death was spread by rat fleas?

I suppose that is similar, at least, from what these notes indicate.

Sounds pretty much the same. Lots of people died then, too. I wonder if we could find any information on it to see if there could be any other similarities between the two.

Well, I'm not sure if this was carried by fleas, for one. Perhaps mites of some kind, but these notes state fish carried it too but no definite source was found.

I'll continue searching. I have quite a ways to go.

Yep! I always donated back home-- it's for a good cause, yeah?

We can make it a regular thing too, if you'd like.

Yes, it is. Many people depend on it. [Aside form the injured, he has to feed vampires! lmao]

I'd really appreciate that. I could make you something to eat in return for your donations.

May I ask for your name? I'm Cube.
