Fanart -- A Pollution character study

Apr 05, 2008 22:23

Er, hi there. ^_^

I had a love affair with Good Omens in the earlier part of last year that led to my joining this community and developing a voracious appetite for Aziraphale/Crowley and Famine/Pollution fanfics, as well as sighing happily over fanart by artists such as Linnpuzzle and blooflox. However, I'd never felt the urge to create anything on my own part ... until now, that is. I just recently created a deviantART account, and discovered to my distress that there is woefully little fanart of Pollution out there. My little contribution certainly won't remedy this, but I hope it helps. He is too endearing a character to go unappreciated.

This is part one of (hopefully) several character studies of Pollution, as I envision him. I wanted him to look young but not too adolescent and childlike; pretty, but not too feminine; and delicate, but not too sickly. (After all, this is BEFORE the consumption strikes. And yes, I did in fact look up some pictures of Victorian Romantic poets, just to get an impression. They do generally seem to have a sort of wan, hollow look to them, don't they? Hence the dark, heavy lines around Pollution's eyes, although that's also to accentuate his paleness.)

And this is the "trial version" that preceded it, just to get a feeling for how I wanted him to look. Drawn on lined paper, so beware.
