Alright, I need some help, people. At the age of 17, I've been asked to do my first ever book report on what I read over the summer. The only problem is that I didn't read anything extra-curricular over the summer. So I thought my best bet would be to do GO, and quite a few of you probably know it better than I do, as the last time I read it was ( Read more... )

essay, wank, do my schoolwork for me, snark

Ah, you have the book, yeah? I would suggest the bit that's about in the beginning of the book- About Crowley convincing Aziraphale that Heaven is boring and stuffy (read: has no sushi resteraunts) to be what you use because it pretty much perfectly lays out the charecters for you, and really sets the tone of the book. I'm pretty sure both of the authours have their own website, if not a fan site, if you want to do that.

Author-Period: Late 20th century sci-fi/parody, written by Terry Pratchett (writer of the Discworld series) and Neil Gaimnan (writer or Neverwhere and the graphic novel series Sandman).

Characters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Omens The main characters have pages I believe.

Style/Description: http://www.ie.lspace.org/books/apf/good-omens.html Read through this. Pratchett makes fun of many famous ideas, events, books and philosophies and mentioning some of them will impress your teacher.

Extract: I'd pick the first chapter.. the part about the Garden of Eden or perhaps the end.

I did a book report on GO a couple years ago, got an A-equivalent, but I never mentioned Shadwell or Madame Tracy--so, if you run out of space/time, apparently talking about them is not required.

If I may? Do not pull this from someone else's review/summary. Read a book, any book -maybe from an author you like- this will take about one evening, say 2-3 hours then plan on 4 hours to write your book report.

If you would like to use GO (good choice!), then give yourself a similar amount of time to re-read it as to read a new book.

This is really the best advice I can give you, I am not trying to be a pain in the neck.

I'm not going to use someone else's review or summary. I was just asking for advice. And also, it's physically impossible for me to read (and absorb) a book in 2-3 hours. It's simply impossible. At the moment, I'm not even sure I could spare 2-3 hours anyway.

not to be overly obnoxious or anything, but asking people on the internet to do your homework for you? LAME. i mean, it's a stupid book report. on a book which you have read.

i'm sorry. i feel like all i do in this community anymore is write disparaging comments at no particular intervals. this most likely makes you-all want to shoot me in the head.

but, i mean, if no one else is going to say it.
