That's very sad indeed - that it's necessary, that is. It's completely understandable that he wants to keep the choice open; I'd understand if he chose to exercise it, and I think that I might do the same in his situation.

I also think it's courageous and wonderful of him to be so public about such a difficult and private thing, because it might make things easier for people in a similar position who don't have the advantage of being famous.

Agreed on all counts. It's PTerry to the bone, in some ways; he's one of the century's greatest humanists, and after all, what's more human than death?

Having just watched Pterry's film I am not surprised that he started the process, it was clear during the film when he talked with the doctor about how he would go about it that he was going to put himself of the waiting list.

Its really sad that Pterry will have to go away from his home and the place he loves to die with dignity its is wrong that the UK refuse their population the right to chose when they die, it is our human right to chose and clear given that we have signed up to the Human Rights act, we have that right and are being denied it.

I just hope that when the time comes a hand will be extended to help Pterry to die as he wishes and that it is with glorious sunshine blinding him on his way. Blessing on you Pterry.
