YFU tells you you speak too much english? how do they tell you that? what enables them to tell you that?

well, when the lady called she asked me what I do in my spare time and I was like well, there's not much to do, I read a lot... and then she went off on how I should read in french, which I suppose is true, but it still annoyed me.
