I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time again. As far as things go with your assistant, you night need to, at some point, say something like, "I appreciate your input, and think you will be a great teacher, but you've still got a long way to go, just like I did when I was still in school for teaching. Teaching isn't always about doing what you want. Not only do you have to take the needs of each of your students into consideration, but you also have to abide by the decisions from above as well as state guidelines. It's difficult to reconcile all of those factors, and I think you'll understand better once you're in your own classroom."
