Threadjack here, but this has been puzzling me forever: how does one plan on getting engaged? Marriage, yes, that's a formal date. But engaged? Once you both agree to the idea, isn't it kind of a thing?

haha well we dont want to officially get engaged until the summer because there are some things that need to get in order first and family stuff to deal with. yes, it is a 'thing' as in we know what we want the plans to be, but we are not currently 'engaged' and we have not told others yet.
does that make sense?
