some times if miss winter, just a little bit. but then i remember winters in chicago, and...not so much.

I imagine Winter arranges himself differently here than in Chicago where he pulls upon the Great Lakes and his cloaks get filthy from traffic and pollution. Here, the mountains embrace him. Winter is shush shush silent holy. Crisp white everywhere. Shimmering icicles . . . clear starry nights that take your breath away.

And. Talk to me at the end of Febraury when I'll be screaming, "That's enough Old Man Winter! Get out! Send in Spring's warm sensual embrace!"

winters in chicago are lovely for the very first day of snow, and then...bone-chilling wind.

...and by january the snow has morphed into ice which contains all the frozen dog turds of the winter, so when it finally melts in the spring the stench is rather off-putting.

THAT is a great song for the end of February. I will sing it to the Old Man when I boot him out to make room for those lithe warm arms of the Queen.
