Oh, sad & sweet. I don't think I've every read anything that mentioned his father-

Me either! Or his mother, for that matter. Or actually anything about his childhood. Waaaaah! *slaps people*

His mom appears briefly in the Manga, volume 5 or 6, I think. But I personally have never been clear about whether she's 'really there' or if its a flashback or something. Kantarou asks her if people can change (referring to Haruka ever warming up to him, I think).

5 or 6? Oooh, then it's in those ones we downloaded from Manga Fox then, eh? I just haven't gotten that far yet. Gives me something to look forward to, though. Yayzors!

*wibbles* Augh, tiny!Kan is so cute and uncorrupted.

Your writing style is kind of intriguing, usually when I've read stuff with this style it hasn't worked. But it really worked well here! Yay! :D

Oooh, thankies! I've never seen anyone else write this way. Maybe after all this time, I'm finally influencing other people to write crap in this style. Yayzors for brainwashing peeples!

Oh, you know what--a good example of this sort of style with POV changing its complexity--'Flowers for Algernon'--starts off with the simple retarded man point of view, then he becomes more intelligent and sophisticated as does the account, but the effect fades and returns to its initial simplicity. Here there's no such change going on in Kantarou--just a change of POV to understand his mom's POV--but the style of the simple language for a simple POV still...

maybe I'm taking too simple a viewpoint, but to me it's just Kan-chan's point of view, as a child, with a child's understanding.

Yuppies! That's exactly what it is, nothing more.
