Office Days

the back of my skull, where it meets my neck, is in excruciating pain. it's one of those aches borne of too many nights on the floor and too many hours in the van. i'm sitting in my office, easing back into the aches of poorly-situated desks and inexplicable chair heights. my blackberry-thumb is transitioning to mouse-cramp. all is wrong in the ( Read more... )

I am apparently one of the few remaining loyal eljayers.

Speaking of stupid desks and chair heights. I'm taking a summer school class 'cos I'm a nerd, and today was the first day. I sat down and couldn't get my legs under the desk, so I tried adjusting the chair, and it was already as low as it would go. The desk had some drawer underneath, which obstructed my legs/knees. I had to sit askew for the entire time, more than four hours! I don't understand how such asinine sitting arrangements are ever designed in the first place.

I'm still on LJ. I only seem to post once every few months, but I miss it. Facebook just doesn't cut it for the kind of long winded processing I need to do with my life. Then again, maybe no one really needs to read how complicated my crushes tend to get.

my desk also has a drawer under it that obstructs my legs. lowering the chair far enough makes my arms reach up absurdly high for typing. raising it forces me to sit sideways. yup. every. day.

the thing about LJing ramblingly about things that mabye no one wants to hear about -- is that they don't HAVE TO READ IT. one of the things i've always appreciated -- it's optional! so, i agree that there's something nice about the more than 140 character space here.

Still here, for many of the same reasons you name. I still somehow think of LJ as private, and as the people who even have the option of reading as select. It's about as non-public as I get, and still involve the internet at all.

And also, occasionally like now, I come back to LJ and get to catch up on the lives of a few close friends, in ways I don't always get to do even in real life.

That sucks about the pain, hon. Any time/$ for a session with Emily Huber?
