my roommate pointed out that there were a bunch of little kids who were really into you guys' set and were doing crazy dances the whole time. also i thought the crowd was really receptive to the political stuff, which was nice. on a related note, that artist Yinka Shonibare, who has a solo show there, is all about acknowledging and critiquing imperial history. brooklyn museum is a cool place...

Wow. Way better weekend than another Brooklynite on my friends list who was talking about choking on smoke from burning SUVs or something ...?!

What you wrote was totally opposite of the post-apocalyptic landscape I had just been reading about.

She does freelance writing, a lot of which is about music, so you're right, she should go to one of your shows. I will suggest a Shondes show to her, if there are any Brooklyn gigs on the horizon. (None according to your MySpace. But I've been doing my part to spread the word to the [few] Brooklynites I know, and the Shondes have been represented on my most recent spate of mix CDs. Hopefully the flagrant piracy has led to a few sales. Hey, it's not much, but I never claimed to be no John Peel.)
